April 2017: A Busy Time at Indigo Catering Equipment

In the last few months we have enjoyed working on a range of commercial kitchens and have been continuing to grow as a company. We completed the installation of St Peters Catholic School, Leatherhead; working in conjunction with Fowlers Construction, Felce and Guy Architects and Surrey County Council.

St. Peter’s Catholic School

Our team was heavily involved with the project from start to finish and are particularly proud of extraction system that was installed as it involved a very large air handling unit on the roof. The school was delighted with the new kitchen when we handed it back to them. This is the 8th Kitchen refurb we have carried out for Surrey School meal service.

The Weald School

We are currently working with Sunning-hill Construction on a new kitchen at The Weald School, Billingshurst. The first phase of the kitchen project has just been installed which was a large centre island canopy. We are to install the kitchen and servery equipment at the end of May.

Industry Events

Indigo joined ENSE in December and we attended our first conference in April at the Wembley Hilton. It was a real eye opener to what is going on in the industry and it was good to catch up with the many manufacturers and dealers that attended. We feel that there is a lot of benefits being a member and we hope to pass these benefits onto new and existing clients.

We also attended a Frima demo at the Amex stadium, Brighton. This piece of equipment really opened our eyes to the endless benefits it can bring to the very demanding kitchens that exist today. We were very impressed with how the Frima chef showed us how user-friendly this piece of kit can be and what high quality cooked food it could produce. We look forward to sharing our new knowledge of this product with our clients and hope that they can attend a Frima demo very soon.

LACA Meeting

Indigo attended the London and South East LACA meeting this month as we were asked to do a presentation to all the members and manufacturers that attended. We did a very informative presentation about the effects of Brexit, turnkey projects and the benefits of using one contractor, new ventilation guidelines and the equipment that is available that is ECO-friendly and has a low energy footprint. It was a good day and we look forward to attending the next meeting in June.

Rye Academy took delivery of its new satellite kitchen pod. We supplied all the new equipment inside and colour wrapped it in the school’s colours.

We have now installed three of these pods for East Sussex School meal services in the last year.

We hope you’ve had a great month and if you require our commercial kitchen services, please get in touch with a call to 01323 843447.
